Commonly Asked Questions:
- Do I have to ride my own horse for the horsemanship?
No!! That is one of the cool things about the Queen contest is that you are allowed to ride any horse in the contest. It doesn’t have to be registered to you or your family as long as you have permission from the owners of the horse. To borrow a horse for the contest at the national level is a very popular and common thing to do. - How hard is the test?
The test is as hard as you make it. The questions for the state level are your basic information found in the AQHA rulebook. If you are an AQHA member you receive a rulebook every year with updated rules and information. Always make sure you are studying the right book. - What if I am not a Kentucky resident can I still participate?
Yes! You must however be a Kentucky Quarter Horse Association Member to participate. Also if you are a Kentucky resident and member but you are currently going to school or living in a different state you can still participate in the contest.
If you are interested in participating please contact KQHA Committee Chairperson: Lynette Davidson, 100 Rosebank Ct., Fairdale, KY 40118 - 502-298-2672
