Update on 2007 KyQHA BIF Point Values

The “rumor mill” has been active recently in discussing the upcoming release of the 2007 Kentucky Quarter Horse Association Breeders’ Incentive Fund (KyQHA BIF) point values. The web site of the KyQHA will continue to be your only official source for KyQHA BIF information.

Recall that the 2006 point values were released in September 2007, and then posted for 30 days for review by all interested. The process of posting the winners for a 30 day period allowed thousands of eyes to scrutinize the accuracy of the data provided to us by AQHA. When the 2007 data is posted, we will ask that you once again report to us any inaccuracies that you believe may exist in the data, or any program participants that you believe have not followed the rules of the program.

Equally important to each and every BIF horse owner, foal nominator, breeder, stallion nominator and owner, and KyQHA member is the integrity of the entire program. In this regard, the KyQHA would like to thank those of you reporting alleged fraudulent practices associated with the KyQHA BIF. Those cases where merit was determined to exist were sent and will be sent, to all appropriate channels for further investigation and action. As you might expect, following protocol to carry out an impartial, fair and thorough investigation takes time and the investigation(s) must not be compromised. However, it is the responsibility of the KyQHA to ensure this process occurs, and that those who seek to defraud honest program participants receive their due consequences.

It is expected that the KyQHA BIF will become even more self-policing at the level of the horse show and farm/ranch as a result of this process. It is our promise to you that we will take all appropriate measures to ensure that this program remains of the highest integrity for the benefit of all.

Finally, a total of $446,629 will be distributed for 2007 events. We hope these dollars go a long way in rewarding owners of BIF eligible horses, as well as owners of broodmares and stallions that have found their way to Kentucky for this program.

Thank you,
KyQHA Breeders’ Incentive Fund Committee
