For Immediate Release
March 1, 2007
At the February meeting of the Kentucky Amateur Association, a motion was voted in by unanimous decision to award Robert Holdsworth, owner of Trailer Marketing, Inc., long-time sponsor and friend of KAQHA, and fellow amateur Quarter Horse enthusiast as the first ever Honorary Lifetime Membership to KAQHA. Like many Amateur enthusiasts, Robert loved horses as a child. He says he read every horse book and absorbed every piece of information about the animal that he could. He chased that dream through college and graduated with a degree in animal science. As a young man, Robert worked with horses and cattle on ranches in Oklahoma. When Robert’s kids were old enough to ride, it didn’t take long for the family to begin enjoying horses together.
When the family moved to Kentucky, they found horses again and that enjoyment blossomed. They began exhibiting American Quarter Horses in performance and halter classes and even as the kids have gotten older, have continued to take long family trail-riding trips. Already a member of the Kentucky Quarter Horse Association, Robert’s relationship with the Amateur Association took a new turn when he announced his exclusive sponsorship of the TMI Summer Spectacular. Previous to TMI’s involvement, this was a regional horseshow. Since TMI came on board, thanks in large part to their generous sponsorship and stewardship of this show, it has grown into a national level AQHA event with last year’s show hosting 4001 entries over 5 days and exhibitors from 26 states. TMI maintains and interest in promoting the American Quarter Horse and it’s events as family entertainment and KAQHA works hard to make the horse show both exhibitor-friendly and a great family atmosphere.
Robert Holdsworth is the owner of TMI (Trailer Marketing Inc) with stores located in Oklahoma City, Walton Kentucky, and South Carolina. Besides over-the-road and specialty trailers, TMI carries top of the line horse trailers, livestock trailers, and living quarters trailers from such manufacturers as Exiss, Hart, Bison, and Barrett Livestock trailers. In addition to selling new and used model trailers, TMI offers a complete parts and service shop to handle maintenance and repairs on all types of trailers. TMI is also a Purina dealer, carries Millcreek manure spreaders, and a Preifert Livestock Equipment Outlet.
The Kentucky Amateur Association is honored to invite Robert Holdsworth to join us as an Honorary Lifetime Member. The induction ceremony will be held at the 2006 KyQHA Annual Convention and Banquet. The Honorary Lifetime Membership is an honorary position which was created in December 2005 at the Annual Membership Meeting of KAQHA and will hold no voting privileges. Its inception was created to recognize individuals who have gone beyond the call to forward the endeavors and enhance the opportunities of the Kentucky Amateur Quarter Horse Association to enjoy the American Quarter Horse in our great state.
