Spring in the Bluegrass is heralded by certain signs. Whether it is foals frolicking on newly greened pastures or that urge to get out with your horse for a show or trail ride, Spring fast upon us and it's time to begin thinking about your plans/goals for this year. What does 2008 hold for you and your horse? What would you like to accomplish for 2008 and how can the Kentucky Amateur Quarter Horse Association help you do it?
We have made a commitment to the members of the Kentucky Amateur Quarter Horse Assocation to provide educational opportunities and experiences involving American Quarter Horses at each of our meetings/events in 2008. This is your opportunity to educate yourself, experience our great breed of horse in a new manner, and engage in an association of people who have the same interests as you.
Our plans for 2008 include educational sessions provided by top-notch Equine professionals, expanded Amateur participation in Trail riding opportunities, and an Amateur fun day to experience our breeds "cowhorse" heritage. Additionally, we are investigating an educational riding clinic for members as well.
Wherever your interests lie, I believe that the Kentucky Amateur Association offers an avenue to explore the greatness of our breed and meet new, interesting people. I encourage you to join the Amateur Association if you are not already a member and if you are, to become engaged and take advantage of the wonderful opportunities that we will offer in 2008!
Best wishes for safe and happy horses,
Khris Fields 2008
